Eczema and Aloe Vera Products
There are two types of eczema, the type that comes from within which is known as endogenous and, more commonly, exogenous, a result of external factors such as allergy or irritants. Eczema from irritants is usually referred to as dermatitis.
Juvenile (childhood) eczema is known as 'atopic' eczema
Eczema is an inflammatory condition which can be:-
a) sudden onset, i.e acute with blister formation and weeping ('wet eczema')
or
b)chronic and dry with thickened patches and very itchy
50% of children with atopic eczema (linked also to asthma and hayfever) grow out of it but the remainder go on to develop the chronic form.
There is a long list of possible atopic dermatitis triggers. They range from dust and allergy all the way to stress. Doctors believe its cause can be many linked to an abnormal function of the immune system. There has even been one research study linking eczema to an overgrowth of Candida. People who have tried to reduce their candida in the digestive tract have significantly improved their symptoms. Often a diet high in acidic foods especially sugars and flours can easily cause an overgrowth of candida without giving us specific symptoms. Too many unhealthy food choices also cause an overload of toxins. Too many toxins can also lower the immune system’s function.
I guess we all know several people who suffer from eczema. It can be more than sore, itchy and unsightly...it can also affect the way we feel about ourselves, our moods and our mental health if left untreated.
So, how can Aloe Vera help you or your friend or family member?
Aloe Vera a long list of incredible healing benefits. It wouldn’t therefore be a surprise that the healing properties of pure aloe vera gel also have a positive effect on combating the symptoms of eczema, but not just a soothing, relieving and protecting ointment but also as an internal cleanser, building up the immune system so it can work more optimally preventing the outbreak of eczema.
Treating eczema with aloe vera juice and aloe vera gel is simple but its effectiveness depends greatly upon your commitment and the quality of the product. Purchasing a product from a seller who can guarantee a high-quality product is extremely important for your healing success. For that reason the manufacturing process plays an important part as many of the nutrients could get lost during harvesting. So always purchase your aloe vera juice and gel from a reputable grower.
Nowadays, although medicines and drugs can be very effective in treating ailments, long-term use often involves side effects for patients. Consequently, more consumers and scientists are turning back to look at more traditional, natural therapies which have been long neglected. As a result, aloe vera is once again attracting attention since it can provide many benefits to our health and lifestyle. Hardly a week goes by without the benefits of aloe vera being highlighted in the 'health' pages of major national newspapers.
So, what do we at Forever Living recommend?
1. Avoid all soap products
2. Reduce the dryness of the skin by using Aloe moisturizing lotion, this in itself will reduce the itchiness.
3.Use an anti-inflammatory creme, i would recommend Aloe Propolis creme. As well as anti-inflammatory properties it also has an anti itch and antibiotic effect. Bee Propolis is a natural antibiotic found in Bee hives.
4. Treat yourself from within by drinking Aloe Vera Gel. This will help provide the newly forming skin cells at the base of the epidermis with the micro nutrients they need to develop into strong, healthy cells.
There are a selection of naturally flavoured drinking gels available (above picture)
Aloe moisturising lotion and Aloe Propolis creme i have already mentioned but there are a couple of other real life savers in our house! Aloe Gelly and Aloe Lips.
Aloe Gelly is a soothing gel that soaks in easily and provides deep penetrating relief. It is especially good straight from the fridge (tho it can be stored at room temp.) The relief from this product is amazing on all skin conditions. we have used it for eczema, chicken pox, sunburn, wind burn, grazes and burns...it really is a wonder product.
My daughter suffers from eczema on her lips and the Aloe Lips provides instant relief and re hydrates the lips. Aloe Lips can also be used in an emergency on bites, itchy skin, burns, in fact any skin irritations. It fits easily into a bag or pocket so you can always carry it with you.
If you suffer from either type of eczema then taking Forever Bee Propolis can also help by providing natural immune support. (it also helps maintain a healthy respiratory system.)
